For example, for entry-level jobs, the ATS software will filter the applications that have certain majors in the application. While for programming jobs, the filter will be coding languages. If you want to make past these filters, you will have to make sure that you include the programming languages or the majors in your applications and the applicant reviewer will search the keywords and then filter the applications.
Do not try to trick the applicant tracking system:
an applicant system is software and many people understand that, so they try to find ways to cheat the system to get ahead. Even if find that trick, like pasting the text in white, you will get caught. The applicant tracking system will display all the texts in the same color on the other end, so if you paste “sales java java” in white somewhere, the human reviewer will see that and quickly move into the next applicant. This not only puts a bad reputation on you but also shows that you try to cheat to get ahead.
